Meet Brown County Music Center’s marketing manager

Lauren McCarroll has been hired as the marketing manager of the Brown County Music Center, joining Executive Director Dana Beth Evans who was brought on board in November.

The box office at the under-construction venue off State Road 46 East is now staffed, too, and employees are ready for tickets to go on sale this Friday for the venue’s first show in August.

The Democrat sent McCarroll a Q&A to introduce herself to the community.

Q Where are you from? What are your interests?

A: I am moving to Brown County from Indianapolis where I have been working in venues for the past five years. I am passionate about creating fantastic experiences for people who love music because it has brought so much to my life. I also love to paint, watch movies, go dancing with friends, drink craft beer, and I am a 1980s nostalgia nerd.

Q Where did you work prior to becoming the BCMC marketing director?

A: Since graduating from Ball State University I have worked for iHeartMEDIA, the “Bob and Tom Show” and Live Nation in several positions.

Q What made you decide to apply for this job?

A: I have a passion for live music and venues. This is project of passion. I feel lucky to be a part of it. Brown County is filled with beauty, interesting people and a rich culture. I can’t wait for the music center to be a part of that culture.

Q What’s a work day like for you?

A: My job doesn’t have a typical work day yet because we are all working hard to get the venue up and running. Once we open, it will be my job to work with tours to secure marketing assets and promote the shows. I will handle all media as well as some of our sponsorship responsibilities.

Q What do you hope to bring to this position?

A: I hope to bring vivacious energy and support to my role and the venue. I am lucky to be a part of a phenomenal team full of incredibly talented individuals. I hope to contribute not only in my role, but to learn from those I am working with.

Q What kind of music do you like? What acts would you like to see perform at BCMC one day?

A: I am a fan of alternative music, new wave indie, electronica and classic rock. A few of my favorite bands are Tame Impala, Glass Animals, Two Door Cinema Club, Mutemath and countless others. There are many acts I would love to see come to the venue, but the public’s favorites are our targets.

Q Where is your office? How can people get ahold of you?

A: Our office will be located in the music venue. Currently, the best way to reach me is through my email: [email protected].

Q Is there anything else you want the community to know about you?

A: I want the community to know how hard we are working to provide a fantastic experience for all who attend and to benefit the community.
