WHEREAS, the Brown County Council (the “County Council”), previously determined to “freeze” the County’s property tax maximum levy; andWHEREAS, the County Council now desires to “thaw” its property tax maximum levy;

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BROWN COUNTY COUNCIL AS FOLLOWS:

1.The County Council hereby determines to thaw the County’s property tax maximum levy.

2.The Auditor of the County shall immediately transmit a certified copy of this Ordinance to the commissioner of the Department of Revenue, the director of the Budget Agency and the commissioner of the Department of Local Government Finance.

3.The officers and representatives of the County and any member of the County Council or the Brown County Board of Commissioners are hereby authorized, empowered and directed, on behalf of the County, to take any other action as such individual deems necessary or desirable to effectuate this Ordinance, and any actions heretofore made or taken be, and hereby are, ratified and approved.

4.All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.

5.This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage.Adopted this 15th day of July, 2019.

ORDINANCE NO. 2019-05AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING A SPEED LIMIT FOR PINE TREE HILLS

WHEREAS, Pine Tree Hills is a residential subdivision of the Town of Nashville, Indiana. The streets of the subdivision have been dedicated to the public and have been accepted into the Town’s street system, however no speed limits have ever been ordained and posted, and;

WHEREAS, Pine Tree Hills is an urban area developed with high density residential homes, and:

WHEREAS, Indiana Code 9-21-5-6 gives the Town the authority to establish speed limits for urban areas without doing a traffic study to not less than 25 miles per hour.

It is therefore ORDAINED that the speed limit on the following designated streets in Pine Tree Hills shall be 25 miles per hour: Pine Water Court, Pine Brook Trail, Pine Hills Drive, Pine Lake Court, Pine Hollow Court, Pine Valley Court as shown on the map attached hereto and made an exhibit to this Ordinance as ‘Exhibit A’.

It is further ORDAINED that Schedule II of chapter 72 of the Town of Nashville Indiana Code of Ordinances be amended to show the speed limits for the streets set out above.

It is further ORDAINED that speed limit signs be posted in appropriate locations to advise motorists of the speed limit.

It is so ORDAINED this 18th day of JULY, 2019
