Letter: Volunteers help clean up unpermitted landfill

To the editor:

Another success! On July 26, Keep Brown County Beautiful, the Recycle Center and volunteers from Cummins, along with land owner Todd Burns, cleaned up a long-standing dump on his property. This volunteer group helped remove hundreds of tires, mattresses, trash, car parts and more, to return it to the pristine natural area it should be.

We want to shout out a huge thank-you to all of the volunteers, along with a thank-you to officers Thom Miller and Dean Keefauver for keeping the road safe for us all that day.

KBCB is working one place at a time to help make Brown County a cleaner and more beautiful place to live. We are dedicated to keep working with our partners to do what it takes to Keep Brown County Beautiful.

We could not do this without all the wonderful volunteers that come out on hot days and work so hard to accomplish so much. To see a hillside that is a complete dump become a beautiful natural area is worth our time, and we can’t thank you enough.

Stay tuned as we keep on Keeping Brown County Beautiful!
