The voters of Town of Nashville, Brown County are notified by the town election board in accordance with Indiana Code 3-10-2-2 that a municipal election will be held in the town on November   5,  2019  with the polls open for voting from 6:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m., prevailing local time.

In accordance with the list of candidates and the public questions certified to me by the State of Indiana or this county’s election board, and the certificates of candidate selection filed in the office of the circuit court clerk of this county (or the Lake County election director), candidates for the following offices will be on the municipal election ballot:

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING OF THE BROWN COUNTY AREA PLAN COMMISSION

Please take notice that the Brown County Area Plan Commission has scheduled a Public hearing to be held on Tuesday October 22 at 6:00 PM in the Meeting Room, Brown County Government Building, 201 Locust Lane, Nashville Indiana.

The purpose of the hearing shall be to accept public comment on a proposed amendment to the Town of Nashville Zoning Ordinance, demolition permitting process. The substance of the amendment would be to increase the demolition permit fee to $100, to expand the definition of a “historic building” to include buildings 50 years old and older, to make the Town Council the reviewing entity for demolition permits and to extend the maximum reviewing period before a permit could be granted to 180 days. The proposed ordinance would impose a maximum fine of $2500 per day for violations and prohibit the issuance of a building permit where a demolition permit had not been issued.

Copies of the proposed amendment are available for inspection in the Brown County Area Planning Office, Brown County Government Building, 201 Locust Lane, Nashville, Indiana, 47448. Written comments on the proposed amendments may be filed with the Secretary of the Area Plan Commission prior to the hearing and will be considered at the hearing. Oral comments concerning the proposed amendments will be heard. The hearing may be continued from time to time. Following the hearing the Brown County Area Plan Commission may take final action on the amendment and/or on any proposed changes to the amendment and make recommendation to the Nashville Town Council regarding the amendment. The hearing is open to the public.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC TEST OF VOTING EQUIPMENT

Notice is hereby given that the Nashville Town Election Board will conduct the required public test of its voting systems to be used in the November 5, 2019 Municipal Election. The public test will take place on Monday, September 30, 2019 at 1:00 pm at the Nashville Town Hall located at 200 Commercial Street, Nashville, IN 47448.
