The Brown County High School choirs will present their annual Coffee Cabaret this weekend on Saturday, Sept. 28.

A silent auction will begin at 5:30 p.m. followed by the program at 6 p.m. at Brown County High School, 235 Schoolhouse Lane.

The high school’s show choirs, Serenade and Rhapsody, will perform Broadway tunes with the Treble choir and soloists. Coffee and desserts will be served.

Advance tickets are on sale now from any high school choir member. Tickets are $10 for adults, $8 for students and seniors, $5 for children ages 3 to 5 and free for children younger than 3.

All funds raised will go to cover choir competition costs including choreography, costuming, sets and transportation. Usually, competitive show choir programs cost each student between $800 to several thousands of dollars to participate, said choir parent Beth Drew.

The Coffee Cabaret allows for the program to keep the cost to $150 per student with smaller additional fees for auxiliary costume items, she said.

“I love this program because it is something family-friendly for the community to do,” Drew said.

“It’s a fun, rewarding night that bonds one to our local youth talent. I just love being a part of it.”
