More options this year to trick-or-treat in Nashville

0

It’s not just Artist Drive and the Salt Creek Trail anymore. Many downtown businesses also are offering trick-or-treating this year.

Candy collection starts at 5 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 31. Trail trick-or-treating will end at 7 p.m. and trick-or-treating elsewhere in Nashville will end at 8 p.m.

On the trail, which runs between the CVS and the YMCA, trick-or-treaters can stop at a variety of themed candy stations, manned by volunteers from the community. Park at the Y and you can catch a shuttle back to your car at the end.

In case of rain, the “trail” could be moved inside the Y (which is what happened last year). That decision will be made on Halloween.

The trail is sponsored by the Brown County YMCA and Brown County Parks and Recreation — both of which still need candy donated for use on the trail. Take donations to the Y or to parks and rec’s office at Deer Run Park.

Artist Drive, one of the only real walkable neighborhoods in Brown County, has been a trick-or-treating hot spot for years.

Local businesses are a new addition to the trick-or-treat options.

The expanded trick-or-treating is the final event in a weeklong series of new Halloween Town activities organized by the Brown County Convention and Visitors Bureau this year.
