Letter: Thanks for making 2019 log cabin tour a success

To the editor:

Many thanks to all who made the Christmas Log and Country Home Tour a success.

First and most important, thank you to the homeowners who graciously opened their home to share with the community the holiday spirit in Brown County: Mark and Kathy Shields, Pam and Bruce Gould, Bill and Linda Todd, Faith Stevens, Herb and Nancy Brown and St. Agnes Catholic Church.

Thank you to our sponsors for believing: the Cornerstone Inn; Nashville General Store and Bakery; Touch of Silver, Gold and Old; Carol’s Gifts; Brown County Inn; Common Grounds; Brown County Winery; Mandy Simmons; Nashville Spice Co.; Hills O’ Brown Vacation Rentals; Hobnob Corner Restaurant; Hotel Nashville; Seasons Lodge and Hard Truth Hills.

The local convention and visitors bureau staff was outstanding with their help and encouragement. Also, thanks to Brian from the Nashville General Store and Bakery for arranging transportation, and also Access shuttle service. Their drivers were courteous and helpful.

Thanks to the tour guides who shared their information about the history, antiques and decorations. Thanks to the staff of the History Center who sold tickets and answered questions. So many activities at the History Center that day — whew!

Thanks to the Brown County Democrat for including pictures of the homes and information in their Brown County Almanack; also for articles in the local paper about the tour.

A giant thank-you to the committee of seven women who worked for a year to make this tour possible.

Our Brown County Historical Society hopes to continue a Christmas Tour next Dec. 5, 2020.
