Letter: Help Mother’s Cupboard stop using styrofoam

To the editor:

Everyone in Brown County is aware of all the good Mother’s Cupboard does for our community with the food pantry and serving hot meals 364 days a year.

Now, Mother’s Cupboard is trying to be environmentally conscious, too.

At present, they are using styrofoam trays to send food home in, and that means there are 44,000 styrofoam containers in our landfills every year.

Mother’s Cupboard would like to change to using biodegradable containers, but these cost twice as much as styrofoam ones. They are looking at several funding ideas, but are beginning with a GoFundMe account.

If you would consider donating to this cause, go to GoFundMe and type in “Go Green Trays.”
