Mr. Charles Kenneth Walls, 85, of Freetown, passed away Thursday, Feb. 20, 2020 at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana. He was born in Freetown to the late Charles and Nellie L. (Davis) Walls.
Funeral services will be conducted by Voss & Sons Funeral Service at Bean Blossom Baptist Church, 5858 Spearsville Road in Morgantown, on Tuesday, Feb. 25 at 11 a.m. with Revs. James Brown, Patrick Glasser and Tim Conboy officiating. Burial will follow at Duncan Cemetery in Brown County.
Family and friends may call at Bean Blossom Baptist Church on Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 10 a.m. until time of service.
Charles (“Kenny” to friends and family) was a member of Bean Blossom Baptist Church since 1973. He enjoyed attending church, visiting with family, especially his grandchildren, and driving his car.
On July 12, 1957 in Morgantown, Kenny married Goldie May Smith. He retired in 1999 from Golden Casting Foundry after 46 years of service. He enjoyed traveling, especially fishing Lake Okeechobee in Florida.
Kenny lived with his brother, Robert, for the last several years and became known in the neighborhood for driving around counting deer and turkey.
Kenny is survived by his children, Leon (Vicki) Walls, Steve (Tina) Walls, Julie (Mike) Moore, Jackie (Kenny) Bethards; 11 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brothers, Robert (Nettie) Walls, Harold (Betty) Walls; and sister, Delores Hignight.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Goldie May Smith Walls; and sisters, Thelma West and Helen Cain.
Memorials may be written to Bean Blossom Baptist Church or Our Hospice of South Central Indiana, in care of Voss & Sons Funeral Service.
