Webb’s first day in the music center was Dec. 17. He agreed to a 90-day trial period before he would be able to take over as the executive director officially.

Former executive director Dana Beth Evans resigned in early December. No reason was given in her resignation letter for why she was leaving.

Webb last managed the Old National Centre in Indianapolis for six years, which has multiple spaces for events including a 2,600-seat performing arts theater and an 1,800-seat concert hall.

During the March 10 meeting, management group Co-President Kevin Ault announced that a previous act approval policy would be put back in place. Previously, the group had a policy that allowed the executive director to approve acts costing up to $15,000, and anything over that amount would have to be approved by the executive and the management group’s finance committee.

If an act costs more than $75,000, then the booking would have to be approved by the executive director, finance committee and the management group’s executive committee.

“We stopped that for a while because we were getting some groups that we didn’t feel were really going to make us money, and they didn’t,” Ault said.

“We would like to reinstate that policy as the way it was and go back to allowing Christian and his staff to approve those acts up to $15,000.”
