AUTHOR Q&A: George Monroe, ‘Hidden Enemies of Democracy: Oligarchies on the Rise’

0

George Monroe grew up in Brown County. He worked as a sixth-grade teacher and was inspired him to write multiple books reflecting on his formative time of life in Brown County.

However, it was a trip to the site of the Nazi trials in Nuremberg, Germany, that inspired this author to write his newest book, “Hidden Enemies of Democracy: Oligarchies on the Rise.”

Monroe spent three-and-a-half years researching and writing this book. He said he discovered that corporations that were seeking “big profits” in both Germany and the United States had “supported Hitler and were secretly continuing to plot the demise of democracy because it limits their ability to achieve powerful economic monopolies.”
