The Brown County Rotary Club will meet over Zoom at 8 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 18.

Brown County High School teachers Chris Townsend and Dean Keefauver will update Rotary on Eagle Manufacturing, including its profitability, industry-recognized internships with Conexus, and designation as an essential business during the COVID-19 shutdown of schools. Time permitting, there will be a panel discussion with student participants about their experiences.

Townsend earned both a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in technology and engineering education from Ball State University. After several years of selling equipment to schools, Townsend found his vocation in teaching and his preferred location in Brown County Schools.

Keefauver earned a bachelor’s degree from Olivet Nazarene University, a bachelor’s degree from Indiana University and a master’s degree from Ball State University in technology education. Keefauver began his teaching career in elementary school in Davenport, Iowa, Columbus, Indiana, and then back home to Brown County at Van Buren Elementary, transitioning to high school about 15 years ago.

Members of the community, especially those interested in exploring opportunities to participate in projects and to be of service to our community, are invited to attend the remote session. Visit www.RotaryClubofBrownCounty.org and click on the “Contact us” URL to obtain a link to the Zoom meeting.
