Rotary club
The Brown County Rotary Club will meet over Zoom at 8 a.m. Thursday, June 17.
Guest speaker Jami Cornwell, clinical educator/nurse navigator with IU Health Olcott Center in Bloomington, will discuss “Staying Safe in the Sun.”
Cornwell earned a bachelor’s degree in nursing at Indiana State University and a master’s degree in nursing education from Western Governors University. She has experience as a clinical supervisor and nurse educator.
IU Health Olcott Center is a free community service in which oncology-certified, registered nurses provide education and support to cancer patients as well as genetics education and testing, diagnostic screening and prevention programs to individuals and groups.
Members of the community, especially those interested in exploring opportunities to participate in projects and to be of service to our community, are invited to attend the remote session. Visit RotaryClubofBrownCounty.org and click on the “Contact us” URL to obtain a link to the Zoom meeting.
Veterans meetings
Veterans service organizations of Brown County have various meetings throughout the month, all meeting at Veterans Hall, 902 Deer Run Lane.
- Vietnam Veterans of Brown County meet on first Wednesdays. Next meeting is July 7 at 7 p.m.
- Veterans of Foreign Wars meet on second Thursdays. Next meeting is July 15 at 7 p.m.
- American Legion meets on third Wednesdays. Next meeting is June 16 at 7 p.m.
