Mr. Willis ‘Willie’ Stoll, Morgantown, passed away on the afternoon of Monday, September 13, 2021. He was 83. Willie was born September 29, 1937 in Daviess County, Indiana, a son of the late Aaron and Lizzie (Gingerich) Stoll.
Willie was reared on the family farm in southern Indiana and graduated from Barr-Reeves High School in Montgomery. He came to the Indianapolis area in 1957. He enjoyed a 30 year career serving in the Research Department at Eli Lilly and Company, retiring in 1992.
Willie was a fix-it man and could repair and build most anything. He built several of the family homes and designed and built several of his own inventions. Willie loved gardening and camping and just being outdoors. Along with his wife, he enjoyed spending the winter months in Bradenton, Florida. He deeply loved his family and especially liked to ‘hassle’ his seven granddaughters. Willie was the patriarch of his family and had a strong faith in God which he lived out as a member of the Trafalgar United Methodist Church.
Willie is survived by his loving wife. Virginia ‘Ginger’ (Rossiter) Stoll; his children, Doug (Chris) Stoll, Greg Stoll, Kent (Amy) Stoll and Holly (Chris) Pullen; his granddaughters, Abra (John) Douglas, Hanna (Buster) Viols, Haleigh (Ronnie) Bruce, Amanda (Tony) Walters, Olivia (Cory) Romeiser, Sarah Stoll and Lindsey Stoll; his great-granddaughters, Brooklyn Douglas, Adley Voils, Emmie Douglas, Arlen Voils and Davy Romeiser; his siblings, Glenn (Nancy) Stoll and Jean Stoll-Graber; a sister-in-law, Emma Stoll as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Willie is preceded in passing by his brother, Delbert Stoll.
Funeral services for Willie were held Monday, September 20, 2021 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, Greenwood, with Pastor Travis Taylor officiating. Private entombment was at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
The family received friends Monday at the funeral home.
For those choosing to make a memorial contribution, the family has suggested those be offered to the Trafalgar United Methodist Church.
