Letter: Thank you for kindness on Sweetwater Trail

To the editor:

It’s a Wednesday morning and I am off to physical therapy for a tear in my rotator cuff. I have left 10 minutes early. I don’t know why until I turn from my driveway and see my neighbor’s old dog Petie, who is 13, walking down Sweetwater Trail.

Soon a gentleman in a van or truck pulls up — I don’t see anything when animals are in distress — and I ask if he can help. He got out and asked if he will bite. I said, “I don’t belive so,” knowing Petie as I do. He then gets out — I believe he had a prosthetic leg —, puts Petie in my backseat and we are on our way to Petie’s home.

I believe I thanked the gentleman, but I didn’t even get his name. So, thank you for your kindness on Sweetwater Trail that Wednesday morning, sir!
