The Brown County Playhouse is the host of local and national acts, bringing in a wide variety of talent to their stage.
Last weekend was no different, when local musician and instructor Kara Barnard hosted the Youth Music Showcase, in which her young students performed.
Solo acts, duets, trios, quartets and even a family band with a trumpet played familiar favorites like Tom Petty’s heartfelt “Free Fallin’” and even shared unique originals with the audience.
Intermittent applause throughout each performance brought smiles to the musicians faces as they played.
Barnard said that in preparation for the showcase, practices were often an emotional time — in the very best way.
About being able to play with the group, Barnard said, “I am the luckiest person on the planet.”
