PET TAILS: Loving, cuddly Cuervo the cat looking for his fur-ever home

0

Cinco de Mayo is just two weeks away and we are hoping that will be the first holiday that Cuervo gets to spend in his forever home. Given his name, wouldn’t that be fitting?

Cuervo has been at Brown County Humane Society for 150 days waiting for his chance to find a home. Why so long? Well, because at the shelter, Cuervo was stressed. The constant action and people coming and going was too much for him. When people would try to meet him, he wasn’t very interactive, which meant he was passed over again and again for more outgoing cats.

The decision was made to send Cuervo to a foster home so we could learn more about his true nature once he settled in. Oh boy, have we learned more than we could have ever asked for! This once shy, standoffish cat is now the biggest cuddle bug who loves nothing more than the attention of his foster parents.

His foster mom shared this with us recently: “He’s a super laid-back guy who loves cuddles. He’s very vocal to let you know exactly when he wants loved on. Temptations tuna-flavored treats seem to be his favorite. He enjoys just sitting on your lap or getting tied up in your legs when you are moving around the house. He’s so loving!”

Cuervo just needed the chance to settle in, learn he was safe and come out of his shell. Much like his namesake, Cuervo is a unique guy with a personality unmatched by any others. Once you start to pet him, he will roll over on his side and make the cutest little air biscuits while staring up at you with eyes full of pure happiness. If you look too long, you may find yourself starstruck.

Cuervo has met the foster mom’s dogs and is very tolerant of their antics. If he decides he has had enough he will just go to another room until they settle down. Cuervo hasn’t met other cats since being in our care, so a slow introduction would be needed.

Since Cuervo is in foster, we would love to schedule a virtual meet and greet so any potential adopters could show how great of a guy he is when he is comfortable.

Consider celebrating Cinco de Mayo a bit early this year with your very own, one-of-a-kind Cuervo. We promise, you won’t be disappointed.
