High school seniors receive scholarships from local groups

Brown County High School seniors received multiple scholarships from local organizations ahead of their graduation.

The Brown County Lions Club awarded scholarships to Tristen Shields, Abigail Bowman, Joshua Miller, David Parry and John Redding.

The five seniors were selected from a deserving group of applicants based on their service to the school and community, “their character, their academic ability and the special circumstances of their lives,” a press release from the Lions Club states.

The five, one-year awards were $1,000 each and are provided through fundraising projects and scholarship endowments by the Brown County Lions Club.

Psi Iota Xi awarded $6,000 total to Aden Rice, Mattie Satter, Abigail Padgett, Shields and Rhett Silbaugh. These students were selected based on their service to the community, their school and academic performance. Submitted

Award money is made available by the help of the Brown County community supporting “PIX” fundraising events like the spring flower and fall mum sales.
