Pastor Raymond Dupree with The Pentecostals introduces the National Day of Prayer ceremony on May 5 at the Brown County Courthouse.

Local ministers and community members gathered outside of the Brown County Courthouse on May 5 to come together and lift one voice as part of the National Day of Prayer.

Rev. Raymond Dupree with The Pentecostals introduced the event, saying a goal was to “exalt the Lord” with prayer.

Pastors from churches of all denominations offered a word of prayer for schools, community organizations, the economy, local, state and federal government.

Sen. Eric Koch was at the gathering and offered a prayer for the community, state and country.

Andrea Replogle, Brown County Habitat for Humanity’s board president, prayed for community organizations. Replogle said that those present were there speaking with one voice and that Brown County must be a place of healing for those who reside and visit the area.
