PET TAILS: Shy dog named after bodhi tree searching for his joy, peace

0

Sometimes when we name an animal in the shelter, it can be a little bit of an odd name, which is what happens when you have to name hundreds of pets a year!

But sometimes those names end up being a perfect fit for that pet and such is the case with our sweet Bodhi.

The heart-shaped leaves of the bodhi tree symbolize the journey toward joy and peace. What a wonderful coincidence. Bodhi is a happy, energetic 10-month-old guy who is looking for the joy and peace of a forever family.

Bodhi can be a bit reserved when it comes to hanging out with people. He has shown little interest in toys, but he is quickly won over with some yummy treats. He has an adorable way of playing follow the leader, almost like a little shadow curious to see where you are taking him. If you sit down, he will come up real close and put his nose to your nose in his own way of giving kisses.

Don’t let his calm exterior with people fool you, when it’s playtime with dog friends, Bodhi is the first to pounce and likes to wrestle and romp with the best of them. While he may take time to warm up to new people, the wait is worth it and you will be well rewarded with a lifetime of love.

Bodhi came to the shelter over 100 days ago with his three siblings. Since that time, his brothers have all found their families and now it is Bodhi’s turn. And, we can’t think of any pup that deserves it more.

You can stop by the shelter to meet Bodhi in person. He is very shy when meeting new people, so a longer first visit or even possibly multiple meets would be best for him to really open up and show you his unique personality. You can also view more photos and video of Bodhi in action on our website at www.bchumane.org.

If Bodhi sounds like he could fit into your family, consider giving him that joy and peace he so greatly deserves.
