Carl D. Wooton, 69, passed away on Monday, February 19, 2024 after a long fight with Multiple Sclerosis in Nashville, Indiana. He was born November 10, 1954 in London, Kentucky to the late Russell and Fay (Baker) Wooton.

Carl leaves behind a son, Chris (Carey) Wooton, two grandchildren, Hannah Wooton and Dylan Wooton, and three sisters, Barbara G. Fox, Diana Marie Harder, and Katherine F. (John) Dotts as well as his many nieces and nephews. Carl was preceded in death by his parents and his brother James (Jim) Wooton.

Carl was a lifelong resident of Brown County, Indiana and graduated from Brown County High School in the class of 1973. He owned his own construction business, spending many years building homes in the Brown County and Bloomington areas. When Chris was young, Carl spent time coaching baseball and helping with Boy Scout activities. He loved to spend time outdoors, and you would often find him fishing or hunting. His favorite pastime was bass fishing and he spent as much of his free time as he could on the water, fishing in tournaments around the country. A fisherman always has a lot of stories to tell, but Carl had the pictures and tournament records to go with them.

The family would like to extend its sincere thanks and appreciation to the wonderful staff at Brown County Health and Living. Their care and support of Carl over the last 12 years has been appreciated more than words can express.

Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Bond-Mitchell Funeral Home, 1682 State Road 135 N, Nashville, Indiana 47448. The Rev. Darrel Miller will conduct a family graveside memorial service at 2:30 p.m. at Lanam Ridge Cemetery in Brown County. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in honor of Carl to Habitat for Humanity of Brown County.

Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.BondMitchellFuneralHome.com for the Wooton family.
