The Magic Moment of Totality

0

For one brief moment, well, maybe a little more than three minutes, all the noise from social media faded into the background. Downtown Nashville came aglow with street and store lights and overhead, the totality of the eclipse thrilled all. The crowds might not have lived up to expectations, but the sights in the heavens certainly did. Besides, Nashville and Brown County officials were in a no-win situation with the crowds. Had they not ordered plenty of portable toilets and trash cans and a massive crowd showed up, there would have been trouble. Of course the opposite was true as well — all the preparations could not guarantee a huge turnout. Still, at the moment of totality, none of that really mattered. Locals and visitors alike stood in awe while the moon passed between the Earth and sun and created a sight that will be hard to forget.
