Letter: Thanks for donating to Rotary auction basket

To the editor:

The Rotary Club of Brown County thanks the following businesses and individuals for donating certificates and items for inclusion in the “Brown County Getaway” gift basket for the silent auction at the recent district conference in Indianapolis: Brown County Playhouse, Salt Creek Golf Retreat, Brown County Convention and Visitors Bureau, Fondulac Farm Cabin Rentals, Teed Howard, Michael Chamblee and Dick Routh.

The club’s basket is always popular at district conferences, and this year was no exception. All proceeds from the silent auction benefit The Rotary Foundation which distributes grants for local, national and international humanitarian and environmental projects. Our club and community have benefited from several such matching grants, such as the Helping Hands building, the pavilion landscaping and, most recently, the reconstruction of the pumphouse on the southeast corner of the Village Green.
