Letter: ‘We all should encourage this cooperative spirit’

To the editor:

I’d like to thank the Helmsburg Regional Sewer board and the Helmsburg Community Development Corporation for working together in their meeting last Monday night (Dec. 17). It’s a tough job to be on the sewer board, and somewhat thankless, but they listened to public input and had good discussion. The meeting resulted in setting a Helmsburg meeting with the Brown County Regional Sewer board and the state to discuss the future of the sewer system.

Personally, I thought it was commendable the concern shown by the board and their willingness to have additional input. It was proactive for the HCDC to bring input forward and it’s what community groups can do.

It was a successful start on a discussion of the future and it included conversation with the BC regional sewer district members who were there. The Helmsburg board has always been very sensitive to taking care of the community and continues to do that.

We all should encourage this cooperative spirit of moving Brown County forward.

Bill Austin, Brown County
