Letter: Thanks for participating in industry expo, job fair

To the editor:

The Career Resource Center of Brown County and Brown County High School would like to thank our area businesses who recently joined us at the high school for an Industry Expo Week and Job Fair. As part of the expo, industry representatives from Artisan Electronics, Brown County Health & Living, Columbus Regional Hospital, Cummins, Designscape and Home Helpers all shared presentations with our high school seniors about their companies and the career options available to them upon graduation.

The job fair offered an opportunity for all ninth- through 12th-grade students to interact with local employers and apply for jobs. Local businesses participating in the job fair included Brown Bike, Brown County Inn, Designscape, Explore Brown County, Ferguson House, Foxfire Boutique, Just In Time Professional Cleaning, McDonald’s, Waycross Camp and the YMCA. Advisers from Ivy Tech Bloomington and Work One were also on hand that day to answer questions and guide students with their job and career exploration.

We recognize that our Brown County students represent the workforce of today and tomorrow, so we thank you for helping them to practice the skills they will need to be effective and engaged employees. We look forward to working with all of you again and hope that you will join us in 2020 to share more workforce opportunities.

Thank you!

Christy Wrightsman, director of the Career Resource Center, Brown County Schools
