Letter: Local disc golf club raises money for TRIAD

To the editor:

It turns out our disc golfers are both a little crazy and a lot of generous! On Nov. 16 this year, 67 players competed in the 2019 Cabin Fever Reliever disc golf tournament held at BC3 Disc Golf on Country Club road. Once again, TRIAD of Brown County was the designated charity.

The lead sponsor, Quaff ON! Brewing, provided a generous cash donation and helped to celebrate the tournament and charity series finale at the BC3 Disc Golf clubhouse. Our other sponsors, KC Custom Designs (of Bloomington) and the Shively family, put on a really fun event for the golfers on a beautiful late fall day.

This tournament was the finale in the 2019 Southern Indiana Fall Fundraiser Series. Some of the best disc golfers in the region came from central and southern Indiana, as well as Cincinnati and Louisville, to help raise money for Brown County TRIAD. Together, $1,349 was donated to benefit TRIAD!

Brown County is quickly becoming a prime destination for participants of this growing disc golf sport, with two of the state’s best courses located within minutes of downtown Nashville.

TRIAD is an outreach program for the elderly and shut-in residents of our county and is affiliated with the sheriff’s department’s community policing initiative.

A special thank-you is due to all the members of the Brown County Disc Golf Club for putting on this great annual event.
