Twenty youth up to age 17 submitted work into the Brown County Art Guild’s Young Artist Show, and six were chosen to receive ribbons and prizes:
Razzy Floyd of Morgantown, Best of Show for “It Hurts When You Can’t Speak,” mixed media
Peyton Rash of Bloomfield, first place for “Idol,” charcoal and ink

Madalyn Spires of Bedford, third place for “Laundry Day,” oil
Holly Reeves of Columbus, honorable mention for “Fire and Ice,” mixed media
R.J. Hawkins of Freetown, honorable mention for “Bakogo,” mixed media
Cash prizes will be awarded to the winners, ranging from $125 to $25.
The show was judged by Brown County Art Guild member Thom Robinson.
The show, on the second floor of the guild, will hang until Feb. 22. People’s Choice votes will be accepted until then, and that award-winning artist will receive a $25 gift certificate for use at the art guild.
A reception and award ceremony will take place at the guild on Saturday, Feb. 22 between 2 and 4 p.m. and include musical entertainment. Awards will be presented at 3 p.m.
The guild is at 48 S. Van Buren St. Winter hours are Fridays and Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sundays from noon to 4 p.m.
