Letter: ‘Racism has no ground in reason’

To the editor:

In response to the recent upsurge of attention on racism in our region:

To local racists, you should understand that racism has no ground in reason. There is no discipline, no sphere of knowledge that supports the political discourse of racism. It has been debunked by science, philosophy and by any person of sincere faith or knowledge.

In light of this, racism then becomes only a platform on which to express personal, unresolved grievances that may or may not be based on racism. And focusing on it, one may forget the more obvious problems within our society, such as crime or corruption in government and business.

It is this author’s firm belief that the chaos generated by chasing the specter of racism should be put aside by the order of discourse pertaining to the simple nature of good and evil.
