ART BRIEFS: Arts in the Parks events; featured artists; IHA annual show

Gallery featuring various media this month

Painter Carolyn Rogers Richard and wood artist Tom Lowe are the July featured artists at Hoosier Artist Gallery.

Richard paints seascapes, landscapes, flowers and abstracts in acrylics, water-soluble oils and cold wax or watercolors.

Lowe uses his circular saw to create wood art, including his popular puzzles, silhouettes and plaques.

Hoosier Artist Gallery is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 45 S. Jefferson St. Go to hoosierartist.net to see more.

Local gallery features local artist this month

B3 Gallery is hosting “My Upcycled Life,” a collection of handmade work by local artist Nancy Crocker, until Monday, July 20.

Crocker is passionate about the environment and her upcycled art reflects her desire to reuse rather than throw out items that others consider obsolete. She is the owner of Old Magnolia House Inn and Fourth Sister Vintage — so named because she is the youngest of four girls.

B3 Gallery is at 61 W. Main St. and represents more than 70 local and area artists from Indiana. For more information, call the gallery at 812-988-6675.

IHA postpones annual show, has new requirements

In order to work within the COVID-19 protocols of the Brown County Art Gallery, the Indiana Heritage Arts Board has made adjustments to this year’s annual exhibition.

The new show dates are Oct. 24 to Nov. 14 at the Brown County Art Gallery, 1 Artist Drive. Changes include early drop-off days and online opening with no reception.
