Woodworkers club
CORDRY LAKE — The Brown County Woodworkers Club will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 5 at Larry Kolar‘s Shop, 7655 Cordry Drive near Cordry Lake.
Quilters guild
COLUMBUS — The Columbus Star Quilters Guild’s regular monthly meeting will be Wednesday, July 5 at St. John’s Masonic Lodge No. 20, 4131 Rocky Ford Road. The meeting starts at 9:30 a.m.
The program will be a trunk show presented by Brian Haggard, quilter and author of “The Crazy Haberdasher’s Inspiring Life Stories Told Through Embroidery by Quiltmania.”
All are encouraged to bring their latest sewing project for show-and-tell. There is no charge for the meeting; all are welcome.
Rotary club
The Brown County Rotary Club meets for breakfast at 7:15 a.m. Thursdays in Nashville’s Artists Colony Inn, 105 S. Van Buren St.
Area residents interested in learning more about Rotary are welcome.
Bluebird club
The Brown County Bluebird Club will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday, July 6 at the Brown County Public Library, 205 N. Locust Lane. There will be a guest speaker and discussion on the current bluebird nesting season. All are welcome. With questions, contact Dan Sparks at 812-200-5700 or [email protected].
WRAPS
The Writers, Readers and Poets Society meets from 7 to 9 p.m. first and third Thursdays each month to read and discuss the literary compositions of those present. The next meeting is July 6. Meetings are at the Brown County Public Library, 205 N. Locust Lane. All are welcome.
Widowed group
The Brown County Widowed Group will meet at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, July 8 at Sycamore Valley Community Center, 746 Memorial Drive at the fairgrounds. League of women voters
Brown County League of Women Voters will meet from 10 a.m. to noon, July 10, in a lower-level room of the Brown County Public Library, 205 N. Locust Lane. The group meets the second Monday each month.
Beekeepers club
The 10 o’clock Beeline Beekeepers Club will meet at 7 p.m. Monday, July 10 in a lower-level meeting room of the Brown County Public Library, 205 N. Locust Lane.
The club welcomes anyone interested in bees or beekeeping; those interested in starting a beehive are particularly encouraged to attend. Experienced beekeepers are available as mentors.
The major topic of discussion Monday night will be handling the nectar flow. Those who have harvested honey are requested to bring a sample so attendees can see and taste the variety of honey available in the region.

Genealogy group
Brown County Genealogical Society will meet from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Thursday, July 13 at the Brown County Community Foundation, 209 N. Van Buren St.
The meeting will feature a video about breaking through genealogical walls by using DNA. The guest speaker’s topics will include various types of DNA testing, companies that do the testing, processes of using the results and emigration from Ireland. Discussion and a brief business meeting will follow the video. All are welcome.
