Patty’s Paper Pals

The members of a St. Agnes Catholic Church stamping and paper crafts group have been working all year making projects for the holiday bazaar Nov. 4 and 5.

Items they will sell include tea and chocolate treats wrapped in decorative designs, gift card holders, desktop memo pads and calendars (with Brown County sites photographed by Brenda Sisson), holiday keepsake boxes (pumpkins, turkeys and Santas), greeting cards for all occasions and a limited number of paper cactus gardens.

Many members of the group honed their skills attending Stampin’ Up classes taught by Melissa Buchanon at the fairgrounds. Buchanon provided ideas, taught techniques for working with paper and sold stamps, paper, embellishments and other products.

Patty Hays inspired the group, donating supplies and sharing ideas learned through years of crafting in cities around the country where she lived and participated in craft groups. The group is now called “Patty’s Paper Pals” in memory of Hays, who passed away Oct. 11 after battling cancer.
