ART BRIEFS: Artist reception, Art Walk plans, fall craft shows

Color Evolution artist featured at B3 Gallery

An artist’s reception for DeMaris Gaunt of Brown County will take place during the Friday Art Walk from 4 to 7 p.m. July 27 at B3 Gallery downtown. During the reception, guitar duo Ginnvor Bullard and Theresa Kang will perform.

Color Evolution, a special showing of pyrography and Gaunt’s mosaic mirrors, will run from Thursday, July 26 through Tuesday, Aug. 21 at the gallery, upstairs at 61 W. Main St.

Gaunt began working in stained glass in 1995. After becoming frustrated with her inability to accurately transfer some designs into glass, she began experimenting with wood burning. Her designs are burned into wood, then finished with Prismacolor pencils. This allows her to create bold colors while retaining the beauty of the wood grain.
