Registration open for Art Colony Weekend

Artists are able to register now for events happening during Brown County Art Colony Weekend Sept. 8 and 9.

Art Colony Weekend is a community celebration of “the rich artistic history and exciting future of Brown County.”

The 4th Annual Villagescape Plein Air Paint-out will take place Sunday, Sept. 9. Artists can register at bcartguildshop.com/education or in person at the guild on South Van Buren Street. The top prize is $1,000.

AGAIN, a festival of new art made with old stuff, will take place downtown between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 8. This is a new event, presented by the Emerald Pencil and Brown County Art Guild. It will be in the backyard of the Emerald Pencil, 23 N. Jefferson St. next to the Village Green.

Artists, artisans and designers who are working with found, scrounged, rescued, reimagined and reinvented objects can register for AGAIN at bcartguildshop.com/education. Works can be in any form, including two- and three-dimensional art, crafts, design, fashion and photography.

Each work must contain at least 75 percent previously used materials. The event is open to artists of all ages and will not be juried. Participants need to bring their own tables, chairs, canopy or tent.

The registration deadline is Friday Aug. 31. With questions, email Pamela Keech at [email protected].
