After a countdown, the lights on the Christmas tree at the Brown County History Center were lit to a round of applause.

The Brown County Community Tree Lighting happened on Nov. 23. Volunteers from the Pioneer Women’s Club served hot chocolate, homemade cookies and fresh coffee.

Santa Claus visited with the youngest community members in the Gnaw Bone Log Room at the History Center before the tree was lit.

Everyone who attended received a free commemorative wooden nickel Christmas tree ornament.
