Robert Klakamp

Indiana Conservation Officer Robert Klakamp has been selected as the 2018 District 6 Officer of the Year. He is currently assigned to Brown County.

The nine-county District 6 covers Brown, Monroe, Bartholomew, Morgan, Johnson, Shelby, Hancock, Marion and Hendricks counties.

Klakamp was raised in Jackson County. He has been a conservation officer for a little more than two years. He serves as a certified breath test operator and venomous snake handler, and is a certified emergency medical technician.

Klakamp is now in the running for the Pitzer Award, which is given to the top overall conservation officer in the state selected from the 10 district award winners. The award is named after Conservation Officer James D. Pitzer, who was fatally shot while investigating illegal hunting activity Jan. 1, 1961, in Jay County.

Briana Marcosson

SMITHFIELD, R.I. — Briana Marcosson of Nashville has been named to Bryant University’s dean’s list for the fall 2018 semester. She is a member of the Class of 2020.

Samantha Badger

BLOOMINGTON — Brown County High School graduate Samantha Badger was named to the executive dean’s list of the Indiana University College of Arts and Sciences for fall 2018. To be named to the list, students must earn at least a 3.7 grade-point average while completing a minimum of 12 graded credit hours in a semester.

Badger is the daughter of Brenda Badger of Brown County.
