Driver arrested after crashing motorcycle

Police arrested a motorcycle driver on Sept. 1 after a crash in the 6900 block of Keith Donaldson Road.

A caller reported that the driver was bleeding from the head and smelled of alcohol, according to a probable cause affidavit. When Brown County Sheriff’s Deputy Kyle Minor arrived, volunteer firefighters were treating Brian Anderson, 48, of Bloomington. Minor reported smelling alcohol on Anderson as he spoke to the firefighters.

Anderson told police he was driving and he lost control.

When Minor asked about the cut on his head, Anderson began to get flustered, saying he was fine and that he had a ride on the way, the police report said. He said he had not had anything to drink and submitted to a portable breath test.

His blood-alcohol content tested at 0.13, more than the legal limit of 0.08.

Anderson refused transport to the hospital for further treatment of his head injury and refused to submit to a chemical test. Minor obtained a search warrant for the blood draw. He was taken to Columbus Regional Hospital for the blood draw before being into the Brown County jail.

On Sept. 10, Anderson was charged with three misdemeanors related to operating a vehicle while intoxicated.

Man arrested for driving intoxicated

BEAN BLOSSOM — A 26-year-old Martinsville man was arrested on Sept. 5 by an Indiana State Police trooper after he was stopped on State Road 135 North.

The reason for the traffic stop was not noted in a probable cause affidavit by ISP Trooper Chris Griggs. Griggs reported stopping Brandon Costello near Railroad Road just before 4:30 p.m.

Griggs reported smelling alcohol on Costello and that his eyes were red and watery. A portable breath test had his blood-alcohol content at 0.12, more than the legal limit of 0.08. Once at the Brown County jail, Costello submitted to a chemical test.

He was charged with two Class C misdemeanors for operating a vehicle while intoxicated on Sept. 10.
