Pumpkins on Parade

Brown Bike Eatery and Drinkery, 110 N. Van Buren St., will host “Pumpkins On Parade” from 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 29 through Sunday, Oct. 31.

Over 100 lighted pumpkins, all carved by Brown County Middle School and High School art students and the Salvation Army’s 4Twelve Youth Group will be displayed along the restaurant’s street-side patio.

Friendly Forest

HELMSBURG — A family-friendly fundraising event continues this weekend at the Jackson Township Fire Department, 4831 Helmsburg Road.

The Friendly Forest, for all ages, will take place on Friday and Saturday evenings, Oct. 29 and 30. Come in a costume to trick-or-treat in the woods and enjoy snacks and drinks at the fire station. The cost is $1 per child; adults can participate for free.

All proceeds go to educational programs and training for the department.

Haunted ATV Tours

Hard Truth Hills, 418 Old State Road 46, will have haunted ATV tours on Friday, Oct. 29 and Saturday, Oct. 30 at 7:30, 8, 8:30, and 9:10 p.m. and on Sunday, Oct. 31 at 7:30, 8, and 8:30 p.m.

The tour will wind through Hard Truth forest and will include many scares along the way. Each 35 minute tour will include two warm alcoholic drinks: A brown sugar chai latte and a hot apple cider, which can be substituted for draft beer.

Admission is $45. This tour is weather dependent.

Community trick-or-treat

Brown County Parks and Recreation and the Brown County YMCA are celebrating Halloween by hosting trick-or-treat on the Salt Creek Trail.

The event will be located in the YMCA parking lot in Nashville, 105 Willow St., on Sunday, Oct. 31 from 5 to 7 p.m. Costumes and bags for candy are encouraged.

Parking will be available in the Brown County Music Center parking lot. Trick-or-treaters are asked to enter the YMCA lot, proceed to the trail, and walk in one direction through the stations. A shuttle will be available from CVS to the YMCA.

This event is a neutral zone and absolutely no political campaigning is allowed.

Parks and rec and the YMCA are also looking for volunteers and candy donations for the trick-or-treat on the Salt Creek Trail event.

Nashville trick-or-treat

Nashville will be welcoming trick-or-treaters this spooky holiday.

Trick-or-treating will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Halloween, Oct. 31 in town. Story telling and a magic show will also be at the Visitors Center, 211 S. Van Buren St., Halloween evening. Visit the Visitors Center’s website or call 812-988-7303 for more information.

A “trunk-or-treat” in Nashville Christian Church parking lot, 160 S Van Buren St., is planned from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Set-up is from 3 to 5 p.m. Candy donations are welcome and can be dropped off at the church on Sunday.

Chocolate Walk

Buy your tickets now to sample over 35 yummy chocolate treats while strolling through Nashville next month.

The Brown County Humane Society is selling tickets for their 14th annual Chocolate Walk. Advance tickets are $25 through Oct. 31 and $30 from Nov. 1 to Nov. 13. The Walk is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 13 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
