BRIGHT SPOT: Realtors build new picnic tables at overlook

This summer a group of local realtors volunteered their time and skills to build new picnic tables at the Bean Blossom Overlook.

For REALTOR Action Day, volunteers assembled and clear coated the brand new picnic tables for the Overlook off of State Road 135.

REALTOR Action Day provides MIBOR REALTOR® members with the opportunity to give back to their communities through placemaking and quality of life projects as well as help to encourage volunteerism across the MIBOR® region.

“REALTORS® play a critical role in the process of buying and selling homes, and may help make their communities become better places to live, work, play and invest by undertaking various impactful volunteer projects,” according to a press release from managing broker Erika Bryenton with Brye Real Estate.

The recently launched National Association of Realtors (NAR) program Realtors Are Good Neighbors, recognizes NAR members who care for their communities.

Donations from Centra Credit Union, The People’s State Bank, Bear Hardware, Hesitation Point Pottery, Tramcore Realty, and Brye Real Estate made the event possible.

Last year, the realtor members pressure washed and clear coated everything on Salt Creek Trail.
