ECLIPSED!

Well, 100,000 people may not have shown up, but a good time seemed to be had by all during the total eclipse this week. The Brown County Democrat was out and about Monday during the big event and found people from South Carolina, Alabama, Kentucky, Cincinnati and Wisconsin.

Some of the parking lots ended up with good business, but almost all were mostly empty early in the morning. It wasn’t unusual to see signs at $50 later replaced with $20, $10 and even $5.

But the reality is that there was the smell of cookouts, the sound of music, laughter and everywhere you looked people were smiling.

What’s the old saying, quality over quantity? That just about summed up the great Eclipse of 2024 in Brown County!
