Brown County Winery

Brown County Winery competed in the Indy International Wine Competition at Purdue University in late May, winning Best in Class for its 2018 Vista Rosé, as well as two double gold medals, eight silver and four bronze.

Nearly 1,800 wines were judged in the 28th annual competition, with more than 360 winemakers from 13 countries and 36 states entering. The competition was evaluated by 46 judges who sampled wines, meads and ciders, with 75 wines being named Best in Class.

Scott Rudd of Nashville was appointed by Lt. Gov. Suzanne Crouch to the Broadband Deployment Advisory Committee, which is housed under the Federal Communications Commission (FCC).

FCC Chairman Ajit Pai appointed leaders in the broadband community from across the country to come together and address the digital divide in the United States. The committee will address how to best improve broadband infrastructure, find ways to encourage the deployment of high-speed broadband infrastructure and services to low-income communities, and make job skills training and development opportunities more widely available.

Rudd was formerly the town manager/economic development director for the Town of Nashville.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Sen. Eric Koch (R-Bedford) was elected May 1 to the 12-member executive committee of the National Council on Electricity Policy (NCEP) based in Washington, D.C.

NCEP serves as a platform for state-level electricity decision-makers to share and learn from diverse perspectives on the evolving electricity sector, and to examine the ways new technologies, policies, regulations and markets impact state resources and the bulk power system.
