Letter: Join the Rally for the Trees in Indianapolis

To the editor:

If you are concerned by the massive increase in the logging of our state forests, please consider joining with fellow Brown County folks to attend the Rally for the Trees.

The event will take place Monday, Feb. 20, from 11:30 a.m. 1:30 p.m. at the State Capitol Building in Indianapolis.

This will be a fun day in support of our forests. There will be speakers and snacks, along with performances from three local musical groups: Tim Grimm, Cari Ray, John Bowyer and Jayme Hood, AKA The Hammer and the Hatchet.

If you would like to provide a ride for others, or if you need one, we will organize carpooling from the parking lot of the Nashville Christian Church. Arrival time is 8:30 a.m. on the 20th if you want to join the carpool.

If you wish to go on your own, parking is available at the Indiana History Museum, 450 W. Ohio St., which is four blocks from the Statehouse.

There is also free parking at Inter-Church Center, 1100 W. 42nd St. A shuttle bus from that location, leaving every 20 minutes, will take people to and from the Statehouse.
