Letter: First Christmas Log Cabin Tour deemed a success

To the editor:

Many thanks to all who made the Christmas Log Cabin Tour a success.

First and most important, thank you to the homeowners who graciously opened their home to share with the community the holiday spirit in Brown County: Rita Simon, Lori Winford, Jack and Karen Kirby, and Carole Page; also, the Presbyterian Fellowship Church, which was a wonderful addition to our tour.

Thank you to our sponsors for believing the tour was going to be a success: The Cornerstone Inn; Nashville General Store & Bakery; Touch of Silver, Gold and Old; Carol’s Gifts; Brown County Inn, Hobnob Corner Restaurant; Darlene’s at Hotel Nashville; H.F.I. Mechanical and Building Solutions; and Hard Truth Hills.

The local CVB staff was outstanding with their help and encouragement. Also, thanks to Kim Robinson from the YMCA for arranging the transportation with Access. Their driver was courteous and helpful.

Thanks to the tour guides who shared their information about the history, antiques and decorations. Thanks to the staff of the History Center who sold tickets and answered questions. So many activities at the History Center that day — whew!

Thanks to the Brown County Democrat for including pictures of the homes and information in their Brown County Almanack.

A giant thank-you to the committee of six women who worked for a year to make this tour possible.

Our Brown County Historical Society plans to continue a Christmas tour on Saturday, Dec. 7, 2019.
